I just love bridges and a covered bridge is even better! When Mom contacted me to take her family pictures in this location I was so excited! This is a new favorite location and I can’t wait to go back!

I love being a Gaithersburg family photographer, especially in the fall when the leaves have hit peak foliage! It is hard to guess when they will change and this family was lucky enough to have their session during this time! The colors are so gorgeous with deep reds, oranges and yellows. Mom did a great job picking outfits around her daughter’s adorable Matilda Jane dress! The colors are work great with the leaves! The weather was perfect (almost a little hot) for the end of October and this family really got to enjoy being outside with each other!

I had the very special opportunity to visit an old friend who had just had her third baby boy at Shady Grove Hospital. We have been friends since our freshman year in high school. It is so nice to have friends you don’t have to see or talk to everyday or every month, but still be able to pick up right where you left off. This is the kind of friend she is. Even though we don’t live far from each other, we have busy lives, but when do get together it’s like we are sixteen again (I wish!). I really enjoy newborn hospital sessions while the babies are still nice and sleepy and there are large windows, letting in lots of natural light! I so wish I had pictures of my boys when they were born! Such special memories that will last a lifetime.

My boys LOVE Halloween. They love to decorate our house, carve pumpkins, and go to Target to pick out Halloween costumes. Since I am a Gaithersburg Child Photographer, I had to get some pictures of them! I got them dressed in their costumes a little early to get some pictures before the sun began to set and the running from house to house to get candy began. This Halloween 2014 was especially fun because it was on a Friday night! A night we look forward to all year!

I spent a gorgeous day on the C&O Canal shooting a fall family session. I really enjoy being a Gaithersburg family and children photogrpaher and this session was especially fun because it was a friend of mine and her beautiful family! I really loved the coordinated outfits she picked up at Nordstroms. The fall leaves made a great background for their color scheme of navy, burnt orange, and mustard. I always tell clients to coordinate, not match. This family did this perfectly! Another great fall family session!

As a Gaithersburg Family photographer, I love photographing young kids. I like how they just do their thing and don’t really pay attention to me. I met this family on a gorgeous fall day and big brother just wasn’t to thrilled to be taking pictures. Of course little sister wanted to follow her big brother, so we tried so many different things to them to look at the camera. I think the best trick was throwing leaves! They were both so excited to pick up the leaves and see how high they could throw them. These turned out to be some of my favorite pictures too! Before our session was over Mom and Dad got everyone into their Washington Captials jerseys. They are huge fans and wanted a few pictures all together!

I got to spend the morning with a really sweet family and we didn’t even need to leave our neighborhood! Being a Gaithersburg family photographer, I am always looking for new spots to shoot in! They showed me a great little spot with a path, creek, and lots of trees! The kids were so cooperative and I think Mom and Dad even had a good time! I love the changing colors of the early fall and I am enjoying spending my time with great families!

I love being a Gaithersburg children photographer, especially when I get to shoot toddlers! My very good friend’s third boy just turned one! I got to hang out with him on his birthday and take some pictures. He was a little unsure but his big brother and my son were there to make him giggle (and distract him a lot)! Baby B decided early in the shoot that he did not like the grass so we had to be creative! I look forward to taking his pictures on many more birthdays!!

I got to start my fall mini sessions off with a very fun family of five! Shooting fall sessions is one reason I love being a Gaithersburg family photographer! We had great cool weather the morning of our session. The canal was the perfect backdrop and I really fell in love with the white brick house! The big kids did a great job playing along to help their little brother cooperate and get some very cute pictures! We did have to dodge quite a few bike riders and joggers, but it was so worth it! Very excited for more gorgeous fall days!

I got to photograph a pretty fantastic first birthday party, one of the many reasons I love being a Gaithersburg child photographer! The theme of orange, silver, and sparkle was used all over the house! The dessert table was gorgeous and baby D even had her own smash cake! Baby D looked adorable in her orange tutu and her chambray shirt and mom even had a matching tutu! After we sang Happy Birthday, Baby D was a little hesitant about the cake but did take a little taste! I hope you have a very happy birthday Baby D!
