My second weekend of fall sessions was packed with five sessions and I was lucky to meet three new families! One of my favorite locations hit peak foliage this weekend the colors were beautiful! It’s funny how different the leaves can be at locations that are only 20 minutes away from each other! The end of October is so gorgeous in our area!

This fall I was lucky to be fully booked almost every weekend! I really enjoyed seeing repeat clients and meeting brand new ones! I can only hope that I am this busy every fall! Here are a few pictures from each of the families during my first weekend of fall sessions.

One of my favorite things to photograph are newborns in the hospital within the first 48 hours they are born! They are still so sleepy and calm and I can move them around with no fussing. The large windows make the room ideal for taking pictures! I was able to visit a friend after the birth of her first child and capture some really special pictures of her new son!

I am lucky to be participating with a great group for new moms, MoCo Mommy -Go- Round. They are a group for moms in the Gaithersburg/Rockville area that samples a different activity by a local business each week. These activities include, a yoga class, art class, and music class. I get to be one of the activities and take pictures of these cute babies each session!

I try to make my newborn lifestyle sessions very calm and not stressful at all! I know it is a whirlwind after you have a baby and I just want to make sure you have some great memories of your new little bundle of joy! This family was so sweet and big sister who had just turned 2 years old was so well behaved, that my job was easy! Dad was pretty surprised at the end of our session how quick and painless it was (mission accomplished)!

Even though it is September it is still HOT outside and definitely still feels like summer! This family braved the heat for a really fun session! I really enjoy getting to know new clients and watching them really have fun together during our session. I hope they will enjoy these family photos and remember what a great time they had together!

I spent a gorgeous spring morning with these adorably sweet sisters. We did a little park hopping and found the hanging bridge that is a new favorite spot to photograph! We climbed some trees, walked through mud in bare feet and skipped down the Yellow Brick Road! Mom found these whimsy dresses and personalized tank tops on Zulily!

When clients think about hiring a photographer they are thinking about posed pictures, but sometimes it is nice to change it up a bit! This was a very fun Mommy and Me session, with no posed, fake smiles, only belly laughs and real smiles! I love the playful interactions between these two, we can really see the love! Lifestyle sessions don’t only have to be for newborns. Gather the family in the master bedroom or snuggle together on the family room couch for an amazing session!

I am really starting to love lifestyle newborn sessions! I think when I get asked to shoot a newborn session clients are not always sure what I mean by a lifestyle session. This is a relaxed session where I capture the natural interactions between Mom, Dad, Baby, and Older siblings (if there are any). The baby can be asleep or awake, they can be one week old or one month old (or whenever you are ready!). I like to shoot in the nursery that parents spend so much time decorating and in the master bedroom where everyone can pile on the bed. I just want to capture real moments that happen when you bring your new baby home!
