At the beginning of 2015 I decided to start a personal project- Project 52. I would take and post a photo a week for 52 weeks of the year. I wanted to make sure that I was still taking pictures for myself and not just for clients. I wanted to have the pictures so I could remember my own children at this stage in their lives. It turned out to be such a fun project, I had no issue keeping up all year! These are the first 26 weeks of my 2015 Project 52.

I got to photograph my younger brother and his family as they welcomed a new baby girl! It was so nice to be able to share this special time with them and watch them become a family of four!

I was lucky to be fully booked for my fall sessions and I was worried to book all the way to Thanksgiving, since the weather is usually freezing by then! To my surprise this weekend was in the seventies and warmer than some weekends we had in October! These clients were so lucky that no jackets were needed!

I met a very sweet family who had just welcomed their second beautiful little girl. These parents were thrilled to have another baby and both these girls are so loved! I really enjoy how newborn lifestyle sessions are laid back and we just go with what is happening. Big sister wants to read a book, so that’s what we do. If baby needs to eat, no problem, I can wait!

I am getting so lucky with the weather this fall! Already into November with my fall sessions and we still don’t need to wear jackets! So many sweet new families are keeping me very busy!

My niece was born four weeks early, she was a tiny peanut only 5lbs. 5oz. I couldn’t wait to go visit her because these hospital sessions have become my favorite!

My kids love Halloween! The stores put out holiday items so early these days, my kids start talking about Halloween in August! This year we were at Costco in September and they begged me to get their costumes then. I am always hesitant to buy costumes that early because I know that it gives them over a month to change their mind! The prices were good and I didn’t want to come back and their sizes not be there so we bought the costumes then. My son wore the Ninja Turtle mask around for days! Luckily by the time Halloween rolled around they were still excited about the costumes. I have also learned over the years to take pictures of them in the costume the before Halloween! The actual day of Halloween they are so excited about going trick-or-treating they don’t want to waste their time with posing for pictures. We go out a day or two before, during some nice light to get our pictures. I am so happy with the way these turned out!

When my client asked if I would shoot an outdoor newborn session at a local park, I was a little worried, especially about the weather. We were so lucky with a gorgeous fall day! This little guy was super cute, but he made mom and dad work hard to get him to fall asleep! I really love how these turned out and will definitely suggest it to people who do not want to use their home for photos!
